Tomaszów Mazowiecki Poland

DISCOVER NATURAL BEAUTY

The nearby areas of the Ice Arena attract with their natural beauty. It is safe to say that the Spała Forests are the green lungs of this area. What especially distinguishes Tomaszów is the Blue Springs reserve, which is located in the valley of the Pilica River. It was created to protect the picturesque blue karst springs. In addition, it is a refuge for numerous species of birds. Depending on the weather conditions and the angle of the sun's rays on the water surface, we can see different shades of green sand. Water coming from limestone springs absorbs red rays, while blue and green rays are reflected from the bottom. Thanks to this, we are able to observe these different shades of green color.

Nearby is the Open Air Museum of the Pilica River, which is the first open-air museum in Poland devoted to this river. It is part of the so-called Tomaszowska Okraglica. Here we can see objects that are peculiarities both because of their history, as well as their purpose and architecture. Objects and exhibits are gathered in the following sections: Water milling in the Pilica basin, War trophies of the Pilica, Pilica river axis, Souvenirs of the old Spała, and folk rowing and boatbuilding. TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

Tomaszowska Okrąglica also includes the restored Underground Tourist Route "Groty Nagórzyckie". It is very popular among tourists due to the 160-meter-long tourist route created here, which is followed by a guide. While walking along the illuminated pavement, you can admire the underground space and exhibitions related to the history and legends of this place. There are, among others dummies of miners and the devil from Nagórzyce. Visiting the grotto is accompanied by lighting and acoustic effects.

An artificial reservoir has been created on the Pilica River - Zalew Sulejowski. It is a place of active recreation for residents. In the summer season you can rent kayaks and pedal boats. Every year, lovers of water madness come to the Lagoon. You can also try your hand at kitesurfing or go boating on the reservoir. In the depths of the Spała forest there is one of the leading preparation centers in Poland. The Central Sports Center in Spała hosts many Olympic champions. The National Skaters Team was preparing here for the upcoming Olympic season. The microclimate and well-stocked facilities allow players to train even in demanding sports disciplines. In addition, the center provides rehabilitation and regeneration after intensive preparations (http://www.spala.cos.pl).
